Primary Engineer - Bringing Engineering to Life in Primary Classrooms

For the past four years, Baxi has proudly partnered with Primary Engineer to introduce STEM into Preston-area classrooms, inspiring future engineers.

Our dedicated engineers collaborate with teachers in local primary schools, guiding students through the Primary Engineer Construction project. Each year, they tackle a new project: in 2024, it was a shoebox tipper truck for younger students and a lighthouse tower with an electrical circuit for older students.

Primary Engineer, a not-for-profit organization, connects engineering professionals like those at Baxi with schools, offering students a real-world link to engineering. This unique program allows students to engage with engineering, interact with professionals, and develop essential skills. Research indicates that STEM aspirations are formed during primary years, making early engagement crucial to addressing the skills gap with a more diverse talent pool.

Work Experience - Baxi's Commitment to Community and STEM Careers

Baxi is dedicated to engaging with the local community and promoting careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). As part of our early careers strategy, we aim to empower young people to make informed decisions about their future careers and the world of work.

In 2024, we proudly launched our first work experience program for Year 10 students (aged 14/15) at our Warwick and Preston offices. This initiative provides students with valuable insights into the professional environment, helping them explore potential career paths and develop essential skills.

By fostering early engagement and offering hands-on experiences, Baxi is committed to nurturing the next generation of STEM professionals and contributing to a vibrant, skilled workforce.

T Levels are a fantastic opportunity for students aged 16 to 19 to gain both classroom knowledge and practical experience through industry placements.
